The Jacob Fatu Return Update You've All Been Waiting For Is Here... And It's Weird! (WWE News)

Jacob Fatu might NOT return to WWE television as a babyface after all...

Self Made Pro is claiming that there's a chance one Jacob Fatu could return to WWE screens as a heel. Yes, a heel! This report floods in despite Fatu's status as a babyface when he vanished from TV following an angle on the 17 October 2025 edition of SmackDown.

Now, the YouTube channel says the WWE creative team has been openly discussing a new direction for Jacob's character after his layoff: "There have been pitches made for Jacob Fatu to not come back as an outright babyface. That’s one thing I’ve also been told about".

If true, then it's a fascinating prospect - Fatu was definitely on the baby side of the fence in October last year, and live crowds had a blast yelling along with his, "All Gas, No Brakes" catchphrase during in-ring promos. It really seemed like the ex-Bloodline heavy was building some momentum towards something big as a face.

Self Made Pro has also heard that WWE has pencilled him in for a return on this Friday's episode of SmackDown in Berlin, Germany. It's worth noting that Drew McIntyre, whom Jacob was feuding with before dashing off for dental surgery, will work a '3 Stages Of Hell' epic vs. Cody Rhodes on that show.

Fatu Still Has Unfinished Business With Drew McIntyre

It was Drew who put Jacob on the shelf (in storyline) during that aforementioned 17 October SmackDown. The Scot initially denied those allegations, but it was fairly obvious even at the time that he was responsible, and Cody knew it. So did everyone else, which means Fatu would realistically seek revenge once he comes back.

Watch this space on that.

If he returns to his old menacing heel position, then it wouldn't make much sense for Jacob to launch headfirst into the rivalry with McIntyre. A heel vs. heel scenario could be tricky for Triple H and his writers to pull off, basically, so they'd need to be really careful here.

WWE sources have informed Self Made Pro that there's a solid chance that Fatu will resume his heel guise once he's back on programming though. This is definitely one for the watching.
