9. The Codebreaker

This was another example of Jericho returning as a good guy but things not truly clicking. The end of 2007 saw Y2J make his first big return to World Wrestling Entertainment, after months of cryptic 15-second binary code videos, not unlike something out of The Matrix, hinting at the return of Chris Jericho.

The videos were extremely well-done, and needless to say everyone was pretty Mojo Rawley for his return. Jericho returned on the November 19th edition of RAW in 2007, interrupting Randy Orton and vowing to 'save' the WWE Universe from Randall. It was a big return supplemented by being immediately placed into a World Championship feud.

Something didn't click though, and within a couple of months opinion on Jericho's return had soured somewhat. He was shifted into a feud with John 'Bradshaw' Layfield (of all people), and despite winning his eighth Intercontinental Championship at this time it wasn't until he became involved in the feud between Batista and Shawn Michaels that things really fell into place.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
