With Legacy no more, Cody was given his first chance to break out as a singles star, and to cultivate a personality that wasn't just 'son of wrestler'. This brought 'Dashing' Cody Rhodes to our screens.

An obviously handsome man, Cody was the ultimate narcissist and it worked. Many wrestlers have taken the 'don't hit the face' route, along with focusing on the aesthetics of their opponents, but Cody did it with an ease and conviction that surprised many.

He would check himself out in a mirror on the entrance before matches, and his 'Grooming Tips' were things of wonder. It was during this time that he mentored Husky Harris on NXT, who you may or may not know as Bray Wyatt today.

'Dashing' Cody Rhodes was the first we saw of Cody's ability to play a character, and to say he knocked out of the park would be an understatement.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
