Goldust's days as a successful singles competitor were all but done by the time he began teaming with Booker T in 2002. The team made little sense on paper and even less sense in practice but this lack of sense was their greatest strength. BookDust went on to become one of pro wrestling's greatest oddball tag teams, winning the World Tag Team Championships in a four-way elimination match at Armageddon 2002.

Following the dissolution of the tag team, Goldust was electrocuted by Randy Orton and Batista, a sad state of affairs that led to the Bizarre One developing a comedic stutter and Tourette's syndrome. It shouldn't have worked, but Goldust had long proved that he was more than adept at making a virtue of silly comedy gimmicks.

Stuttering Tourette's Goldust only appeared for a few months before the contract of the man behind the paint expired. It was wildly entertaining while it lasted.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
