The Many Faces Of Kane Ranked - From Worst To Best

1. Debut Kane

Kane Debut Badd Blood 97
WWE

Saying that, everyone's major memory of Kane has to be that debut, right? After being teased for months Kane finally arrived in October 1997 interfering in the first ever Hell in a Cell match by ripping the cell door off. In this time of broken handcuffs and Cena-strength that may not seem like such a big deal, but 19 years ago it was terrifying.

Which is exactly what Kane was initially. He was terrifying, exciting, fresh and terrifying again, unlike anything we'd seen before and presented entirely differently. Not even The Undertaker wanted anything to do with him, and if the Deadman wants to avoid you then you must be bad news.

The thrill wouldn't truly last past Kane's feud with Taker and his alliance with Mankind, but the memory lasts well into the 21st century. His unmasking may have been more violent, his relationship with Daniel Bryan more entertaining and his 2001 era more valuable, but nothing can truly top his debut.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
