The One Massive Thing AEW Have NEVER Done...UNTIL NOW

Hangman Page CM Punk
AEW

Who will win at Double Or Nothing?

Punk wouldn't promise the victory, but gets cheered louder than Hangman Page in almost every building, has endured one of the great comeback stories in wrestling history, and is a certified needle-mover beyond the nascent and rather measured successes of his opponent. Page's title run hasn't yet really been much of a stature enhancer, so enormous as his stature already was during his epic chase. A win here would categorically change that, and reframe exactly what he might be able to do holding AEW's richest honour.

The story hasn't zeroed in on all of this enough, honestly. But again, the details have mostly been replaced by motivations laid bare. Page hasn't ever really expressed what it is that specifically p*ssed him off about Punk so much in that return salvo after he came back from having covid, but that may well be something that reveals itself in the months to come. Particularly if he faces the biggest setback of his career so far and falls short when the spotlight's burning brightest upon him.

Who will win at Double Or Nothing? Answer still unknown. But that's the beautiful, gripping point. Buy the pay-per-view and find out, and if you feel compelled to do so, consider that the market leader considered the medium dead and buried as good as a decade ago. Champion, Challenger, and the fate of the company's top prize will surely disprove it yet again.
