The Real Reason Luke Harper Tried To Quit WWE

We'll start with his comeback which, although getting rave reviews from the hand-full of people who saw him, was about as understated as it gets. Wrestling as part of WrestleMania Axxess, Harper had stated that he saw this match as things coming "full circle" with the company in an impassioned post on his twitter.

His point about this being "his" WrestleMania match and not taking it for granted is all well and valid, but his tag team partner Rowan had made his return in the WWE Championship match at the Royal Rumble. It's near impossible not to draw comparisons between the two and, when you do, Harper's comes up so jarringly short.

Then of course there was his inclusion in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania. On the face of it, a relatively logical way to ease a performer back into the main roster after a long injury but, bizarrely, he was virtually excluded entirely from the televised footage. Those in the arena getting a very brief glimpse of him on the MetLife's screens, before he was unceremoniously dumped out early on.

More importantly though, he has still not been used at all on Raw or SmackDown following this. If neither of those two shows could find a place for a former Intercontinental Champion making his long-awaited return for TV, then there's very little hope any other episodes will.
