The Rock: Every Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

15. Get Smart (2008)

Get Smart Dwayne Johnson
Warner Bros.

Get Smart may not be high art, but it is an enjoyably silly spy spoof, with Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway making for a fine central pairing, while Johnson and Alan Arkin provide neat support as the impeccable Agent 23 and The Chief respectively.

This is an interesting role for Johnson as it was the last time he actually played a card-carrying villain on screen (spoiler alert: it's a plot twist!), and though he's clearly so much better at playing the burly hero, he still pulls off a solid performance.

The film really belongs to Carell and Hathaway, though, and they're a blast. As an adaptation of the 1960 TV show it's a bit dubious, but thankfully functions well enough on its own terms as an up-to-date send-up of moldy spy tropes.
