The Rock: Every Movie Ranked From Worst To Best
31. Jem & The Holograms (2015)
Based on the hit 80s animated series, Jem and the Holograms is a depressingly low-budget live-action adaptation filled with excessive melodrama, overt nods to current social media trends, and unlikable characters it's hard to care much about.
At a stamina-sapping two hours in length, it takes way too long to go anywhere, there are some unintentionally hilarious tonal shifts, and ultimately one has to wonder who this was really supposed to appeal to.
You're probably also wondering how The Rock ended up in this mere $5 million movie. Well, an Instagram clip of him appears in the film, where he seems to be praising one of the band's songs, but in reality he was actually praising a Taylor Swift song and the clip was intentionally taken out of context for the purpose of this film.
Presumably they had Johnson's permission to use it, but still, it's an incredibly lame way to shove a huge Hollywood star into such a low-rent movie.
