The Rock Interested In Wantaway AEW Star - Possible Jump Coming (WWE News)

TKO management, including The Rock, think this AEW wrestler would be a good fit for WWE.

File this one under wild wrestling rumours, but The Wrestling Observer is reporting that none other than The Rock is a fan of current AEW man Danhausen. Dave Meltzer claims that numerous higher-ups in WWE are interested in the gimmick star, and he reasons that could stand Danhausen in good stead if he plans on negotiating a jump across the divide next year.

You'd have to go some to find more powerful allies than Dwayne Johnson.

Of course, this is just a rumour, but it's what Meltzer's internal sources tell him. A lot of people will be taking this with a pinch of salt, but it's believed that Rocky has been a fan of the curse-giving comedy character for a while now, and he reckons Danhausen would be an excellent fit for WWE's product.

Danhausen to NXT in 2026?! Don't rule it out, especially if people as important as The Rock are going to bat for him behind the scenes. Johnson is on the TKO board, so his opinion holds a lot of sway in WWE. That could, in theory, help Danhausen become the next name to make the jump over from AEW to WWE in the near future.

Tony Khan Has Added Injury Time To Danhausen's Deal

AEW boss Tony Khan has elected to tack on injury time to Danhausen's current deal with the promotion. Originally, the contract was set to expire in July, but Fightful Select reports that the added injury time will cause it to run until "well into 2026". In other words, it's touch and go exactly when Dan would be able to sit down with WWE top brass and iron out terms.

It's understood that the wrestler requested that Khan cut him loose rather than keeping him around. He hasn't really been doing much of note in AEW's world since 2023, but he did show up at ROH's Final Battle 2024. Officially, Danhausen's last match on mainline All Elite TV was as part of a Battle Royal during the 'Zero Hour' pre-show at Worlds End 2023.

Before that, he last wrestled on-screen as part of the 1 December 2023 edition of old 'C' show Rampage.

If these rumours are true and WWE/The Rock would be interested in bringing Danhausen in, then they'll need to wait for definitive news on his current AEW deal lapsing. That might not be for a while.
