The Rock's 10 Best Matches Ever

7. Vs. Triple H (Backlash 2000)

Sometimes, a main event match just needs to be bats--t insane. Overbooking has its time and place, and as long as you don't beat it in the ground, its implementation will make everybody watching perk up. Such was the case of the main event of Backlash 2000, which channeled the spirit of Over the Edge 1998 by having Rock play the role of Stone Cold to Triple H's corporate Dude Love.

What more can you say about a match in which Rock delivers a Rock Bottom to two men (Helmsley and Shane McMahon) through a table at the same time? Even the involvement of every single McMahon (including Ed and Jim) was kept at a simmer beneath overly self-indulgent.

Rock bravely fights the odds until a still-recovering Stone Cold arrives (dig that crowd reaction when the glass shatters), and the good guys manage to slay the corporate dragon together. It's an audience match, moving from spectacle to spectacle at breakneck speed - an appropriate vehicle for a future action star in Johnson.
