The Rock's 10 Best Matches Ever
5. Vs. Triple H (Judgment Day 2000)
It's hard to say what was the more frightening prospect: two WWE "main event style" guys keeping the crowd invested for a full hour, or that fact that guest referee Shawn Michaels had decided to wear shorts that even Alexa Bliss would find too skimpy. Kidding aside, the decision to run a sixty-minute Iron Man match between Rock and Helmsley seemed peculiar.
Not only did both men up their wrestling game (Rock with a friggin' magistral cradle, for instance), but some extremely-clever booking helped it along. The spot where Triple H scrambles Rock's brains with a steel chair (earning a DQ) only to pin him seconds later not only sacrificed a fall to gain a fall, but put Helmsley ahead physically. Mental chess at its finest.
By the time Undertaker arrives to cause the screwy finish, it's clear that Rock and Helmsley could deliver in trying circumstances. If you truly believe that Rock is overrated as a wrestler, here's the counter-argument.
