When WWE announced last month that The Undertaker would be appearing on the 900th episode of Smackdown, many fans thought that the appearance would be a one-time deal, possibly setting up a WrestleMania program for "The Phenom." At the landmark show, though, The Undertaker's desire was much more immeidiate, proclaiming his allegiance to Smackdown.

In a special edition of The Cutting Edge featuring the Smackdown Survivor Series men's team, The Undertaker made his return to the show, confronting both Edge and the entire team. He started out by professing his respect for Shane McMahon, then announced that WrestleMania would not define him - instead, he's back digging holes and taking souls. He hinted that he'd be at Survivor Series, then in no uncertain terms threatened the members of the team should they lose on Sunday.

The Undertaker was a central part of Smackdown during the initial brand split. Though he was originally drafted to Raw, he jumped to the blue brand after SummerSlam 2002 and remained there until the split was phased out in 2011. During that time, he captured the World Heavyweight Championship on three occasions and headlined WrestleManias 24 and 26.
