The Undertaker’s 10 Best WWE SmackDown Matches

5. Vs. Great Khali - SmackDown (18 August 2006)

'The Phenom's feud with the Great Khali culminated in a barbaric Last Man Standing Match on SmackDown. 'Taker had initially challenged the giant to a match at SummerSlam, but it was inexplicably moved to the blue brand instead. This, however, didn't stop them from bringing the house down.

Unlike some of the other matches on this list, this one was not a wrestling classic. Instead, it was a good-old fashioned brawl between two monsters who, quite literally, wanted to tear each other apart. What made it so great was how genuinely surprising it was. Khali wasn't exactly renowned for his in-ring abilities and his match with 'The Deadman' at Judgment Day was far below 'Taker's PPV standards. This all changed in their Last Man Standing rematch.

The match told one heck of a story, as Undertaker dug deep and threw everything he had at the 7-footer that had dominated him all summer. There were strikes, table-spots, steel steps and two killer chair shots that would make the hair on the back of your neck stand up, before 'The Phenom' sealed the deal with a huge Chokeslam.

In hindsight, The Undertaker was one of the few men to actually get a great match out of the Great Khali and, though he was victorious, he made sure the monster looked like, well, a monster. This one would have been a more than worthy addition to the SummerSlam card, and it ultimately served as the perfect conclusion to the pair's rivalry.
