The Undertaker’s 10 Best WWE SmackDown Matches

4. Vs. Kurt Angle - SmackDown (4 September 2003)

The Undertaker and Kurt Angle's picture-perfect match at No Way Out 2006 is considered among both men's all-time best. However, the pair's in-ring chemistry wasn't exactly lightning in a bottle, because they came close to matching that perfection on two occasions, one of which happened to take place three years earlier.

'Taker met Angle for the WWE Championship on SmackDown during his 'Big Evil' phase, and the match was nothing short of exhilarating. Promoted as a striker vs. wrestler contest, it started with a great opening sequence as both men tried to feel each other out, adapting to their opponent's style while trying to avoid their signature moves.

The whole thing flowed incredibly well as they attempted to think outside the box, with Angle trying to floor his larger opponent at every given point while 'The Phenom' adapted his offence, using arm drags to counter the Champion. It told such a great and intriguing story that even when things slowed down for a submission hold (and there were a lot of them), it felt like such a natural progression and never hurt the pacing.

With Chokeslams, Angle Slams, Last Rides and Ankle Locks, this was an edge-of-seat battle from two of WWE's titans. The crowd bought into every false finish and showered both of them with praise, as they delivered a match that was nothing short of a classic. Without a doubt, one of the greatest matches of The Undertaker's biker days.
