The Undertaker's 10 Greatest Wrestling Matches Of All Time

The 2002 vintage of The Undertaker's star rating record was, if not exactly drastic, at least majorly disappointing, especially given the calibre of high-profile opponents he met on PPV that year. Presumably the Royal Rumble elimination to Maven rocked his confidence for real, as he pulled off a veritable Mt. Rushmore of mediocrity in a series of stinkers against The Rock, Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan and Triple H.

It'd take supremity, not star power, to lift 'Taker from his disinterested slump. That came in the form of Kurt Angle at Vengeance 2002 - although the match was still sprinkled with the latter in the form of the Hollywood-bound Rock. The ingredients were in place for one of the finest examples of a WWE three-way, replete with breathtaking near-falls and an intensity which had seemingly deserted Death Valley's finest. His mojo back in tow, Undertaker would roll on to his memorable feud with the emerging Brock Lesnar.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
