The Undertaker's 10 Most Dramatic WWE Segments

2. Being Burnt Alive In A Casket By Kane (Royal Rumble 1998)

The below video is a perfect encapsulation of the introduction of Kane, Undertaker's demonic half-brother, into the WWE in the mid-1990's. Debuting at the Badd Blood PPV, Kane interrupted Undertaker's Hell In A Cell match with Shawn Michaels, ripping the door off the cell with his bare hands and delivering a tombstone piledriver to the Phenom. For a subsequent number of months, Kane then continued to challenge Undertaker, who consistently refused to fight him. This all led to the above video, which took place at Royal Rumble 1998. Kane interfered in Undertaker's Casket match with HBK, giving Michaels the victory, and padlocked his brother inside the casket. What followed is a beautiful example of the wacky world of 'wrestling logic'. After successfully securing Undertaker inside the casket, Kane then proceeded to take an axe to it for a few minutes, before setting the whole thing on fire. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNnZPLv8Mt4 Even if you accept the conceit that Kane is pure evil and wants to 'kill' his brother, surely chopping him with the axe before throwing him in the casket would be the way to go? Then he wouldn't have even needed to set it on fire, because Undertaker would already have been dead. Right? So, why did it go down like this? Well, because it looked cool and badass, of course, despite making little to no sense. Wrestling logic!
