It was fitting that two veteran warriors looking to end the greatest era of wrestling on the Grandest Stage of Them All did battle inside one of that era's most destructive creations. Hell In A Cell was a house that had become a home for both Triple H and The Undertaker since its inception, so what better way to bring this era to an end than by having them duke it out to see who was its greatest warrior?

There was so much story behind the gargantuan clash at WrestleMania XXVIII that it could have crumbled under the pressure, but that was never a possibility for these two (three) men in this environment, as 'Taker, Triple H and special-guest referee Shawn Michaels sought to wrap up a four-year narrative (with a two-decade backdrop) within the confines of the structure that shaped much of their respective careers, and bah gawd they succeeded.

The cell didn't come into play much, but in this instance, that was acceptable because there was a respect between these two men that allowed the match to rely on the story instead. It aided in that story, but it never overshadowed it. As a result, Trips, 'Taker and Shawn gave us some of the best physical storytelling of the past decade.

An emotional Michaels telling the two veterans to 'stay down'? That heart-stopping Sweet Chin Music-into-a-Pedigree combo that almost ended The Streak? This is why we love pro wrestling.
