The Undertaker's 17 WWE Survivor Series Matches - From Worst To Best

3. The Undertaker Vs. Mankind (1996)

This match featured one of the coolest Undertaker entrances as he descended from above. That's not something they did often with him, but it worked in this instance. This was a revenge match for The Undertaker after two big matches with Mankind, who was relatively new to the company. The first one was at SummerSlam 1996 (a Boiler Room Brawl match that ended when Paul Bearer turned on Undertaker to help Mankind win), then they had a Buried Alive match (that Undertaker won but was then attacked by Mankind and The Executioner). There was an interesting, old school stipulation for this one because Paul Bearer was placed in a cage above the ring to prevent him from interfering. It was a bit weird that they would have a regular match (aside from Bearer in the cage) after two big stipulation matches, so it left a bit to be desired in that sense. They still managed to have a very physical match with good psychology. There were instances where Undertaker tired to counter the Mandible Claw by biting and attacking it to prevent Mankind from using it. As usual, Mankind took some really dangerous bumps. The finish of the match was pretty unique because Mankind was in control of the action, then the Undertaker was able to duck an attack in the corner, put Mankind in position and drop him with a Tombstone. It wasn't a common finish for matches of that era where you might see Undertaker hit a few big moves in a row before winning. It was a finish "out of nowhere" which made it feel different (in a good way). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxE1_V_YifE
