The Undertaker's 23 WrestleMania Matches - From Worst To Best

13. Kane (WrestleMania XIV)

The family saga that introduced Kane to the world of professional wrestling and setup the encounter between him and brother The Undertaker at WrestleMania XIV is, arguably, the most epic piece of storytelling WWE had ever produced. The younger brother, disfigured in a fire that killed his mother and father, returned from seclusion to seek revenge on the sibling he held responsible for the tragic events of his childhood. Guided by Paul Bearer, he attempted to end his brother, burning him alive in a casket only to find that Undertaker had somehow escaped. No longer willing to abide by the promise he made to his deceased parents never to fight Kane, The Deadman literally walked through fire to accept a challenge for a match at the Showcase of the Immortals. In Boston, with mainstream media covering the event, Undertaker and Kane delivered a battle deserving of the hype that preceded it. While it was never, shall we say, 'aesthetically pleasing', it was the physical war that one would assume such a heated feud would demand. The Big Red Machine pummelled his older brother, overwhelming him at one point with his strength and ferocity. A late-match Tombstone appeared to spell the end of Undertaker and his coveted winning streak but, ever resilient, he shot his shoulder off the mat. He responded with not one, not two, but THREE Tombstones of his own, ending the greatest threat to his dominance at WrestleMania to that point. It was hardly the last time the brothers would do battle, as you already know, but it still ranks as arguably their greatest match together.
