The Undertaker's 23 WrestleMania Matches - From Worst To Best

6. Triple H (WrestleMania XXVII)

The Undertaker and Triple H revised their WrestleMania rivalry some ten years after their first match at the event, waging war for the second time on the grandest stage in 2011. Determined to avenge the retirement of Shawn Michaels and prove that he could do what no other man could, The Game and Phenom set their epic encounter up without uttering a single word to each other. Instead, they simply glanced at the WrestleMania sign and basked in the roar of approval that rained down from the stands. The story of the match is what really propelled it. Triple H unabashedly beat the hell out of Undertaker and flattened him with three straight Pedigrees. It looked at that moment as if The Game, masterful backstage politician, had somehow talked his father-in-law into letting him be the man to end The Streak. Needless to say, Undertaker kicking out of the finisher elicited a sigh of relief from Internet smarks across the globe. Still, he was forced to endure a barrage of chair shots that were reminiscent of the 2001 event, when Steve Austin peppered The Rock and won the WWE title. A resourceful and alert Undertaker, though, grabbed hold of The Game and tapped him out with Hell's Gate. What should have been a celebratory moment for The Phenom, however, was not. Instead, he was stretchered from the ring, his body beaten and broken by his opponent. Despite winning, he looked like the real loser. Like a Hollywood blockbuster, there was very little in the way of substance to the match. It was one big spot after another, Triple H's brutality against an ageing veteran not quite ready to give up and ride off into the sunset a beaten man. But the image of Undertaker being wheeled out of the arena haunted fans and left them wondering how much he had left in the tank.
