The Undertaker's 7 WrestleMania Victims Who Never Recovered

7. Giant Gonzalez - WrestleMania 9

Giant Gonzalez is the name that instantly springs to mind when asked to name the worst opponent of Undertaker's streak, but his career never reached the heights necessary to suffer any sort of fall anyway. If anything, Gonzalez was able to prolong his inevitable decline thanks to this match, securing a rematch at SummerSlam thanks to an incredibly dubious DQ finish (in which he incapacitated 'Taker with a chloroform-soaked rag). On the other hand, Gonzalez was really thrown in at the deep end here, having debuted only a few months prior at the Royal Rumble. His flaws were fully exposed to a national audience, sealing his fate as a one-off sideshow heel. It came as no surprise when he was quietly released later in the year. After leaving the WWF, Gonzalez wrestled in Japan for a couple of years - even facing the Great Muta in a singles match - but was forced to retire amid serious health concerns.
