'Taker's second reign as World Heavyweight Champion and sixth overall, he managed to recreate the magic of his near-perfect 2007 when he once again main-evented WrestleMania (for real this time as he actually got to close the show) and won the gold in an excellent showdown with Edge that was almost a year in the making.

Though this reign was also short, GM Vickie Guerrero's manipulation ensured that we saw plenty of the champ throughout as he was forced to compete in grueling main event matches against Kane, Festus and Batista - before putting the title on the line against 'The Animal' in an epic No Holds Barred match two days before he had to defend it against Edge in the 'Rated-R Superstar's contracted rematch.

Stripping him of the title the following week felt completely unnecessary as it abruptly ended another great title reign for 'The Deadman' - the only difference was that this time it was completely WWE's fault - and resulted in two more great 'Taker/Edge showdowns with no defending champion. Nonetheless, that month of entertaining main events made for one heck of a (all-too-brief) reign for 'The Phenom'.
