The WORST Moment From Every WWE WrestleMania

28. The DX Band’s “New Wave” Anthem (WrestleMania XIV)

Iconic ring announcer Howard Finkel said that this was "a new wave version" of 'America The Beautiful'. He should've warned fans instead by saying: 'This is 1998 and we're in the midst of an Attitude shift, so Chris Warren and the D-Generation X band are going to butcher an anthem like some garage cover band version of Rage Against The Machine'.

Genuine statement: Good lord, this was one of the worst things you'll ever hear, and that's coming from a guy who listens to some seriously heavy music many can't stand. Why did anyone think it was a good idea? The DX band playing Triple H or Shawn Michaels to the ring made sense, but this? Nope. Just nope.

Even people who enjoy music so heavy it sounds like it's coming out of a concrete mixer will recoil at the horrors Warren and pals served up here. On commentary, Jim Ross earned stand up comedian points for saying that WrestleMania is all about freedom of expression. Not when it's this dire, it isn't!

The live crowd, because they had taste, booed the performance out of the building. No wonder, the rendition was trash from first agonising second to last. It's believed that the DX band playing 'America The Ugly' is used as a torture device in some places. Probably.

Again, RATM this wasn't. To think, some fans wondered if it was Zack de la Rocha and gang on DX's entrance track to begin with. The DX band's performances at 'Mania XIV proved that they weren't even in the same league live.
