The WORST Moment From Every WWE WrestleMania
23. Brock Lesnar’s Bruising Botch (WrestleMania XIX)
Brock Lesnar regrets trying this spot during such a high profile match to this very day. In fairness, he was an athletic freak in his prime who had more confidence than anyone (and rightly so), but hitting a Shooting Star Press in developmental was rather different to landing one towards the end of a sweaty, physical 'Mania main event.
Infamously, Brock botched the move vs. Kurt Angle at 'Mania XIX and almost brained himself on the mat by landing head first. Honestly, he's real lucky he didn't break his neck. This was a life-threatening error that couldn't made the event newsworthy for all the wrong reasons. It's probably just as well Lesnar was as much of a tank as he was in 2003.
That ridiculously well-muscled physique probs saved his skin.
It'll come as a shock to no-one, but Brock can’t really remember the rest of the match. Angle, who was suffering through intense pain himself, had to carry him…with a broken freakin’ neck! Admittedly, and again, things could’ve been much, much worse, but the mistake put a dampener on the occasion. It was clear to see that the lights were on but nobody was home when seeing Lesnar's dazed facial expressions as the referee raised his hand in victory.
Internally, Kurt was praying that Brock would be able to finish up. He needed to drop the WWE Title so he could go and get much-needed surgery on that shattered neck. His opponent in Seattle almost joined him in the hospital for a similar operation!
