The WWE Superstar You Never Thought Would Leave... Is Leaving

FTR Young Bucks Dynamite
AEW

It begins not with the discussion of the mystery man, but of two of his very good friends in the industry.

As - at various points - Ring Of Honor, Triple A and IWGP Tag Team Champions, FTR had a 2022 that was probably beyond their wildest dreams, even if those goals and ambitions were as lofty as their list of classic matches.

From an iconic trilogy with The Briscoes to an instant classic rematch against The Young Bucks, the pair seemed to pack in as many matches with as many different outfits as they could, crossing paths with The Motor City Machine Guns, CM Punk & Jon Moxley, Aussie Open, Roppongi Vice, Top Flight and The Acclaimed and current surprise AEW Tag Team Champions The Gunns, the former Revival had done just about everything there was to do by year's end.

Enter one last pair of former WWE Tag Team Champions, and the prospect of '7-Star FTR ticking off yet another doubles banger with yet another iconic couple. Three of the four needed for the match currently reside in AEW, and multi-time WWE/World Heavyweight/Everything Champion and Hall-Of-Famer Edge might be zeroing in on the most unlikely of moves before he closes his wrestling account for real this time.

There might not be fire, but there's suddenly an awful lot of smoke.
