THIS Is The One Man Who Can Save WWE

Daniel Bryan The Fiend
WWE.com

He watches and loves pro wrestling beyond WWE, having conceded that Zack Sabre, Jr. has eclipsed his technical accomplishments. He is well-liked and profoundly respected amongst his peers. Hell, his run on Talking Smack alongside Renee Young is the closest we have ever come to the funny, wholesome chemistry shared between Bobby Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon.

In Daniel Bryan, WWE has its best future road agent, scout, and booker. He is a true master-of-all polymath.

Even in a scenario much like that which exists now - with Vince still in effective unilateral control, relinquishing it in painstakingly slow fashion, if at all - Bryan knows how to navigate and star in a broken system, and has the know-how and compassionate nature to guide those underneath him over the eggshells.

He is perfect for the role, but whether Bryan would it is another matter. He isn't materially motivated, and the image of greying Bryan in a suit is incongruous. It's a hopeless fantasy scenario, but one that speaks to another, harsh truth. The WWE system is not built to be changed by a man of Bryan's values or disposition.

But Bryan is the one. In another harsh truth, it's not as if the staff writers are remotely capable of the promotion, which begs the question: why are they there?
