Appearing on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast (via Cageside Seats) ahead of his WrestleMania 42 clash with Oba Femi, Brock Lesnar gave his thoughts on the current landscape of WWE when compared to his own time breaking into the business back in the early 2000s.

Discussing how he was tested during his younger years, Lesnar noted:

"I was a shooter, an amateur guy. I had a lot of credentials to my name. Of course, I got tested along the way by the old timers. You have to pay your dues. Back then, you paid your dues, and you had to get your respect. It’s different now, obviously. Things have gotten a lot softer. There isn’t no more kangaroo courts. It’s different now, but I go there, I’m the old guy now."

As for his most recent WWE return and his pro wrestling future, it sounds as if Brock might not be around for much longer.

"I went back to work there so I could feed my kids. You guys should see my grocery bill. I had left the company years ago, and I’m grateful that I’m back for a short time here, so I’m really grateful for all the opportunities that I’ve had in my life."

Just how long that "short time" is remains to be seen, amidst plentiful rumours that Brock Lesnar may be set to retire at this year's SummerSlam, which takes place in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a city that Brock has plenty of history with, not least his time at the University of Minnesota, where he became an NCAA Division I Heavyweight Champion.
