WWE Hall of Fame Konnan

With it rumoured that Konnan will be the one to induct Rey Mysterio into the WWE Hall of Fame this year, K-Dawg himself has now confirmed that WWE has reached out to him.

Speaking during an appearance on the Muscle Memory podcast (via POST Wrestling), Konnan noted:

"Well, I would be very disappointed if it wasn't me [inducting Rey Mysterio]. But, Rey has asked me to do it, and so we're still negotiating, and until they put it out there, until they officially announce it, I really can't saying anything on it. But I have been contacted."

While an agreement between Konnan and WWE has seemingly yet to be made, the lucha libre legend is the perfect choice to induct Mysterio as part of the 2023 Hall of Fame class.

The relationship between Konnan and Rey dates all the way back to when Mysterio was just 11 years of age. Likewise, Konnan was at one point mentored and trained by Rey Misterio Sr., who is the uncle of the three-time WWE World Champion. Another example of the bond between Konnan and Rey, is that Konnan is also one of the godparents of Dominik Mysterio.

At present, the Great Muta is the only other name confirmed to be going into the 2023 Hall of Fame alongside Rey Mysterio, though Stacy Keibler is another heavily rumoured to be inducted. Previously, it was believed that Batista would be a part of this year's HOF, though recent reports claim that will now not be the case.

The 2023 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony takes place on Friday 31, the night before WrestleMania 39 commences.
