This Week in WWE: Daniel Bryan Has Greatest In-Ring Week of His Career

Match of the week: Sheamus vs Dolph Ziggler (Smackdown) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_-DJljrnO8 The pair ironed out some timing issues from their sloppy but entertaining PPV outing to provide an absolutely thrilling spectacle in the main event of Friday night Smackdown. After obtaining a sneaky pinfall Dolph set the precedent for a night of showing off when he used the turnbuckle to perform push ups to send a message of skilled athleticism to his amused opponent. Sheamus quickly wiped away the grin on Dolph's face with a furious side headlock takedown that was followed with a vicious barge off the ropes and a rolling slam for the pinfall. Sheamus then started to work the arm but timed a backbodydrop attempt poorly as Dolph scouted the move and kicked his opponent in the face before dodging a charge that sent Sheamus flying to the outside. Ziggler's momentum didn't last long however as he was caught by the Irishman following a dive to the outside and then thrown over his opponents head into the turnbuckle where he landed with a sickening thud. Back from the break Dolph had succeeded in grounding Sheamus in the ring before being thrown over the top rope as Sheamus continued to regain control on the outside by smashing Dolph's head against the steel steps which led to a brilliant sell job by Ziggler who rotated mid bump to land on his ass before falling backwards onto the ground. Sheamus then tried to make Dolph's ankle connect with the steel but he was distracted by Vickie's incessant shouting which enabled Dolph to seize the opportuninty to jump the steps and chop Sheamus down with a flying fame asser. Amazing spot right there. Returning inside the ring, Dolph stomped the hell out of Sheamus before tiring out the champ with a sleeper hold and throwing him neck first into the ropes as the Celtic Warrior attempted to make a recovery. In another excellent heel spot Ziggler then used the ropes to jump out on the apron before dropkicking Sheamus right back onto the mat. After a couple of pinfall attempts Ziggler took Sheamus to the mat with a full body hold before Sheamus eventually fought out to pummel Dolph with some axe handles and a kick to the face. Sheamus then attempted to take Dolph down with white noise but Dolph reversed into a pinfall attempt for a near three count. After capitalising with a giant DDT, Sheamus tumbled to the outer apron where Dolph tried to trap him but Sheamus fought out with some walloping fists before jumping to the top rope where Dolph's athletic jump was met with a vicious forearm in another brilliantly timed manoeuvre that was followed up by a top rope shoulder block for a near fall. Sheamus then pressed Ziggler against the ropes and lashed at him with his trademark fists before launching Dolph in the corner where Ziggler managed to counter his charge with a kick that left his opponent hobbling in pain. Dolph then looked to capitalise with a charge of his own but ran straight into a Brogue Kick that was enough to win the match for Sheamus. Click "next" to read the next entry below...

"Growing up, Laurent was such an ardent fan of wrestling superstar Stone Cold Steve Austin that he actually attempted to send the Texas Rattlesnake a letter demanding that he defeat arch-nemesis The Rock at Wrestlemania 15. Oh hell yeah, it was all still very real to him back then dammit.
