TNA's 10 Biggest Mistakes Of 2016

10. Aron Rex's Debut

Damien Sandow was a hot free agent after WWE let him go. Fans knew the man deserved better and wanted to see where he'd end up next. Like many names that Vince dumped in the past, he showed up in TNA looking for a fresh start. Nearly all of the buzz Sandow had since his first night in the company is now gone.

Something was just off about the Intellectual Savior that night. Right off the bat he told us he was going to be honest with us and that his name is Aron and...his last name is Rex. Well...no, that's not exactly true since it's Aaron Haddad (why did he cut one "a" out of his name?). Then instead of showing us why he was so badly underutilized in WWE by cutting a fiery promo, he took pseudo-shoot jabs at his former employer, which seems to be all the rage in the wrestling world these days.

He also seemed to diss his old beloved Sandow persona by telling us he'd never had his IQ tested, basically pointing out he was playing a character that entire time. The problem is, fans LOVED that character! And it's even more silly because his theme song is a take-off of his WWE one. Rex got to say what he wanted to, but someone in management should have at least given him a few guidelines and let him fill in the rest.

It wasn't a terrible promo, but it certainly wasn't what fans were hoping to see from Rex the moment he was finally unleashed.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
