Austin Aries Vs. Hernandez

aries In a TNA backstage segment, Austin Aries was awaiting the arrival of his Tag Team Championship partner Bobby Roode for a scheduled photoshoot, when he was interrupted and challenged to a match by Hernandez. With a Tag Team Championship match on the cards at Lockdown, Aries made his way to the ring without his partner by his side, and Hernandez also entered the match alone. A battle between speed and technical ability against brute power on the cards, hopefully this will be an impressive match. And, joy of joys, Tazz is back on commentary. Hernandez's power advantage gives him an early advantage as he is able to send Aries to the outside, but before he has the opportunity to dive over the top rope onto A-Double, Aries counters with a shoulder to the ribs, but once again Hernandez is able to use his size advantage to clobber the former World Champion to the canvas. Aries soon is able to counter a powerbomb and send Hernandez to the outside and connect with his patented dive through the ropes onto the Mexican powerhouse. But Aries' cockiness eventually gets the better of him, as he attempts Chavo Guerrero's signature Frogsplash onto a fallen Hernandez, but he is able to roll away and Aries hits nothing but the mat. Hernandez is then able to show some of the major displays of power that he is know for, military pressing Aries about ten feet into the air at one point. Aries seems like he has had enough as he walks up the ramp towards the exit, but the big man brings him right back to ringside. This leads to Aries grabbing his championship belt and threatening to hit Hernandez with it, before tossing the belt to Hernandez. While the referee removes the belt from the ring, Aries connects with a concealed chain into Hernandez's face, which gives the Greatest Man Whoever Lived the cheap victory in a short but fun match. WINNER: Austin Aries
