Samoa Joe Vs. Kurt Angle
http://youtu.be/YTqKU_muUv4 The action just gets better, as two of the best that TNA has to offer are about to compete to impress the General Manager. Before the match, we hear comments about Angle as to his anger over wrestling being removed as an Olympic sport, which demands reconsideration in my opinion, but that's a subject for another day. Right now, the crowd is pumped up to see Joe and Angle rekindle one of the most physical rivalries in the history of the company. Joe uses his power advantage to take down Angle early on, but that immediate pressure is soon countered by a textbook belly-to-belly suplex from the Wrestling Machine. The match isn't of the quick pace of the previous bout, but it is methodical, with wrestling holds being of the premium importance. Following a very unappreciated advertising break, a number of counters result in Angle being sent to the outside, which is quickly complimented from a suicide dive by Samoa Joe. Both men then begin connecting with some of their signature moves, with the crowd cheering with anticipation everytime Angle is about to connect with a German Suplex. But Joe is soon able to recapture the advantage with the ST-Joe out of the corner, and he looks to set up the feared Muscle-Buster. Angle though is quick to reverse his intentions with a missile dropkick. Angle connects with the Angle Slam, but Joe somehow pops straight back up and locks in the Coquina Clutch. While he is fading, Angle is able to push him back into the turnbuckles, and then applies his Ankle Lock submission, which is then rolled through by Joe. The match looks like it could go either way, before the new recruits of Aces & Eights, Garrett Bischoff and Wes Brisco, make their way to the ring to assault both battle-worn competitors and bring about the double DQ. However, they don't have the advantage for long, as Joe and Angle soon get the advantage and send the young turncoats from the ring. This interruption will almost certainly lead to more in the future, as Lockdown beckons. WINNER: NO CONTEST
