Tony Khan Has A New Right-Hand Man In AEW
At a time when it sounds like AEW could use all the help it can get...
Tony Schiavone has reportedly been told that he is effectively now Tony Khan's "right-hand man" in All Elite Wrestling.
DAZN's Steven Muehlhausen stated as much on Tuesday. Schiavone, who was with World Championship Wrestling from 1990 until WWE's 2001 buyout, has experience navigating that promotion's notoriously chaotic backstage environment, which should come in useful given AEW's current situation.
Muehlhausen tweeted:-
Sources: Not formally an update but news on Tony Khan. Hes really leaned on Tony Schiavone and been told hes now Khan's "right-hand man". Schiavone knows all about chaos when he was in WCW and should be a great person to lean on and be a sounding board on Punk/Elite altercation

AEW is currently mired in controversy, with an increasingly volatile backstage situation coming to a head after last week's All Out 2022 pay-per-view. World Champion CM Punk, Trios Champions The Elite, Ace Steel, and others are currently in limbo following a chaotic backstage brawl seemingly sparked by Punk's comments at the post-show media scrum. Amongst others, AEW's Executive Vice Presidents, 'Hangman' Adam Page, and Colt Cabana all came in for intense criticism from Punk, who is believed to have thrown a punch at Matt Jackson during the fight.
Schiavone, meanwhile, has been with AEW since August 2019. Initially brought in as an announcer, he was named AEW's new Senior Producer and Special Advisor to Talent in a backstage shake-up designed at reshaping the company's talent relations department last month.
