All Elite Wrestling will be able to use relevant footage to promote the upcoming Owen Hart Cup tournament.

Tony Khan revealed during a recent appearance on SiriusXM's Busted Open Radio that he had secured relevant Owen footage from New Japan Pro Wrestling, which is to be used with the upcoming tournament, further details on which are going to be revealed on this Wednesday's episode of Dynamite.

How AEW was going to promote The Owen without footage rights was one of the biggest questions surrounding the tournament when it was announced back in September, given that Hart is best known for his time in WWE. This has now been answered.

Hart worked multiple New Japan tours earlier in his career, with his final run concluding in April 1991.

AEW revealed last week that the Owen Hart Cup will comprise of two concurrent tournaments (one for men, one for women) concluding at Double Or Nothing 2022 next May. The tropes will be presented by Owen's widow, Dr. Martha Hart, and is being co-promoted by the Owen Hart Foundation, whose partnership with All Elite Wrestling was unveiled back in September.
