*CM Punk chants intensify*

While to some, today may just be another standard, regular Friday, for many in the wrestling world today is being championed as CM Punk Day. And with the Second City Saint heavily rumoured to be making his AEW debut on tonight's episode of Rampage, AEW Chairman Tony Khan has hyped "the most anticipated announcement in AEW history" for tonight's First Dance event.

Taking to Twitter, Khan proclaimed:

Should CM Punk indeed making his pro wrestling return on tonight's AEW Rampage - which, of course, will be emanating from the United Center in Punk's hometown of Chicago - that would unequivocally shake the wrestling world to its core.

The Straight-Edge Superstar formally retired from wrestling upon walking out on WWE back in early 2014, and plentiful speculation from insiders has Punk appearing on this week's AEW Rampage and officially becoming #AllElite.

It's not just CM Punk who is believed to be heading to AEW, mind, for Bryan Danielson is another who has reportedly agreed to join Tony Khan's promotion. Then there's those Adam Cole rumours, Will Ospreay recently throwing down the gauntlet to the "dweebs in AEW", and countless other possibilities where it pertains to AEW and the company's future.
