Top 20 Draft Picks For WWE's Brand Split 2016
7. SmackDown - Randy Orton
It seems like the likeliest date for this draft would be the July 11 Raw, giving the company a week to get things in order before actually implementing the split. That means that the draft show would be filled with matches as well as selections. Imagine, then, that Sami Zayn is having one last Raw match against some heel, when all of a sudden, Randy Orton makes a surprise return to WWE, running in and nailing Zayn with a surprise RKO.
All of a sudden, the entire WWE Universe would know that Randy Orton is back, and that he's a heel. Orton's always been vocal about preferring to work as a bad guy, and even though his babyface run from 2010 to 2013 was great, his run as a face last year was less inspired. It's time to turn Orton heel once more, and an unprovoked attack on a popular face would do just that.
Of course, Randy Orton's appearance would also alert the General Managers that he's back in play, and Stephanie McMahon - who has the next pick - wouldn't waste a moment in snatching him up. Orton would be Stephanie's seventh pick, giving Smackdown another star and Zayn the opportunity for revenge.
