Top 20 Draft Picks For WWE's Brand Split 2016
13. SmackDown - Kevin Owens
Stephanie McMahon will offer Shane a tongue-in-cheek congratulations on selecting the most unstable, hard-to-deal-with superstar on the entire roster for the Raw brand, then go on to bury Ambrose, Rollins, and Reigns - The Shield, she'll say, is just so 2013. Stephanie McMahon's Smackdown is about putting a focus on the superstars of the future, and to that end, she'll announce her choice for Smackdown's first main event heel: Kevin Owens.
Owens deserves a chance to be the top heel on one of WWE's brands, and on Smackdown - away from Seth Rollins - he can get that chance. The past 12 months have admittedly been a mixed bag for the former Intercontinental Champion - on the one hand, his feud with John Cena didn't make him an untouchable main event star like many thought it was going to, but at the same time, he proved himself to be WWE's MVP during a time period laden with high-profile injuries and bad luck.
On Smackdown, Owens can start a program with AJ Styles, or rekindle his feud with John Cena en route to winning the U.S. Title and reigning over the blue brand.
