Odyssey Jones is set for an extended period on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on his injured knee.

It was confirmed during last night's episode of WWE NXT 2.0 that Jones will likely be out of action until the fall, having undergone a procedure for a ruptured patellar tendon. He had been hurt while wrestling Saurav in what was supposed to be a 205 Live match taped on 11 January. This led to the finish, with the bout ending via referee's decision. None of it ended up airing.

Jones appeared on last week's episode of NXT, with Joe Gacy and Harland beating him down when he showed up on crutches. Whether or not the promotion will pick up on this angle upon Odyssey's return is anyone's guess.

The 27-year-old signed with WWE in February 2019, having undergone his first tryout with the company eight months prior. He set an 800lb trap bar deadlift at the Performance Center three months later but didn't debut on television until July 2021, when he emerged with a 205 Live win over Grayson Waller, transitioning into a more regular role soon after.

All the best to Jones in his recovery.
