With the 2023 Royal Rumble now in the record books, the Road to WrestleMania is fully underway. And one name who many can't stop discussing when it comes to this year's Showcase of the Immortals, is the Rock.

Across this past year or more, there has been plentiful speculation that the Great One was being lined up to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39 from Inglewood, California's SoFi Stadium. In more recent weeks, reports suggest that this match will not happen - at least not at 'Mania 39 - due to the Rock's hectic schedule not affording him the time to be physically ready to compete in time for April.

Following the Royal Rumble, Paul 'Triple H' Levesque was asked about the Rock's WrestleMania 39 status during the Rumble's post-show press scrum.

Seemingly playing down a Rock outing at this year's Grandaddy of Them All, the Game noted how the People's Champion is incredibly busy, wouldn't want to "half-ass" an appearance, and how Trips feels it currently isn't on the cards for WrestleMania 39. On the other side of this, Levesque noted how the door is always open to the Rock, that he can walk through that door whenever he so chooses, and added how there's always next year.

While plans can always change - and, of course, Triple H could purposefully be playing down things - the above comments certainly make it sound as if the Rock won't be stepping back into the ring at WrestleMania 39.
