6. Triple H vs. Undertaker (No Holds Barred) - WrestleMania 27
WrestleMania 27 was a forgettable show outside of one match, that being Triple H and The Undertaker. Both men had returned to the WWE in February, approximately one month before WrestleMania. Triple H had been out since the previous June recovering from injuries, while Undertaker was coming back for his yearly WrestleMania match after largely working a part time schedule at this point. Although the two had met ten years prior at WrestleMania X-7 (which was ignored in the build up to this match), fans were looking forward to seeing two of the biggest stars of their era working on the greatest stage of the year. Triple H made one of his most memorable entrances at a WrestleMania, coming out at first to "For Whom The Bell Tolls" by Metallica (this then transitioned into his regular theme song). Not to be topped, the Undertaker employed a Johnny Cash song for his entrance ("Ain't No Grave"). The match itself was a can you top this, back and forth struggle that went close to 30 minutes. Undertaker kicked out of several Pedigrees, while Triple H kicked out of the Tombstone, Last Ride, and Choke Slam. Triple H finally tried giving the Undertaker his own finish, the Tombstone, but the Undertaker still could not be defeated. It all came to a conclusion when Undertaker locked on the Hell's Gate for the submission finish. The real story of the match was that the Undertaker was exhausted, having to be helped out of the ring afterwards on a stretcher, which was the first time fans had seen the Undertaker taken to this kind of extreme at a WrestleMania. Triple H was able to walk out under his own power. The stage was set for a return match the following year.
