Triple H's WWE Characters Ranked - From Worst To Best

1. The Game

When Triple H left DX to join The Corporation, he floundered for a bit. Even though he had clearly been earmarked as a future WWE Champion, he lacked a persona that would take him there - or any persona at all, really.

The solution was 'The Game', a gimmick that was apparently originally designed for Owen Hart. As 'The Game', Triple H was obsessed with being the best and reaching the top of the wrestling world, no matter whom he had to step on to get there.

His jump to greatness wasn't exactly smooth - he failed to win the WWE Championship at SummerSlam 1999, but defeated Mankind for the belt the following evening on Raw - but by 2000, he had grown into the character. Now aligned with Stephanie McMahon, WWE Champion Triple H became the star of Raw and the best overall performer in the United States.

His ring work was fantastic, better than it had ever been (or has been since). He became the first heel in WWE history to walk out of a WrestleMania main event victorious, stunning fans at WrestleMania 2000. Throughout 2000 and early 2001, he had great matches with The Rock, Chris Jericho, Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, and even Taka Michinoku.

Though this iteration of Triple H had a short shelf life (it came to an end when he tore his quad in May of 2001), it was far and away the best. He's been living off it ever since.
