After four years as a heel, Triple H finally turned face again when he stepped in to help friend-turned-enemy-turned-friend Shawn Michaels in a feud with Vince and Shane McMahon. That led to the reformation of D-Generation X, and the two middle-aged men were able to revisit their glory days.

DX had two "reunion tours" - one that ran from 2006 to 2007, and one from 2009 to 2010 - and they were markedly different in content due to the company's shift from a TV-14 product to a TV-PG one. Still, a few things were the same - Triple H came off as the guy who was doing his best to seem cool, while the more secure Michaels seemed to be having a good time at his own expense.

Despite the narrative WWE wants to construct, every WWE fan knows that HBK is miles better than HHH, and it was never more obvious than when the two were side by side. Whether DX was dropping feces on The Spirit Squad or visiting Little Peoples' Court, Shawn always came off as the guy who was simply too entertaining to be dragged down by the nonsense. HHH, meanwhile, came off as a jerk who made fun of his more talented friend for losing his hair.
