UFC 249 Preview And Prediction
2. Dominick Cruz vs Henry Cejudo
It's been a longtime since Dominick Cruz last stepped foot inside the Octagon. The former champion has suffered injury after injury, meaning new fight fans only know him for his commentary rather than his skills while competing.
In his prime, he was practically untouchable, using his unorthodox footwork to flummox opponents and leave them punching the air. His record puts him firmly atop of the pile as the greatest 135lber of all time, but there are plenty of people staking their claim for that title. None more so than current bantamweight champion, Henry Cejudo.
His outside of the Octagon antics and his King of Cringe persona does everything to rile ups fans and potential opponents alike, but he manages to back it up inside of the Octagon. Not only is he a technically fantastic fighter, his relentless pressure, ability to adapt and mental toughness make him a formidable foe for anyone fighting in that division.
Although Cruz has proven before that he can come back from a long layoff, prove critics wrong and win the gold, Cejudo has been active and steadily improving with every fight. While it would be fun to witness the greatest comeback in UFC history, we have to go with the champion for this one.
Cejudo via unanimous decision.
