4. Ultimate Warrior vs. Rick Rude - SummerSlam 1990
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wi80wxzh1GM I know I'm going to probably take heat for putting this match this high on the list but for whatever reason, I have a soft spot for it. In the summer of 1990, Warrior challenged his old nemesis Rick Rude in a cage match for the WWF world title. Warrior and Rude actually had a confrontation on Saturday Night's Main Event where it would have made sense for Rude to win the title and Warrior to win it here but hindsight is 20/20 and all that. Rude and Warrior had a fairly standard early-1990s WWF cage match, featuring Rude bleeding from hitting the bars and various moves from on top of the turnbuckles. Rude actually had the high spot in the match as he hit Warrior with a fist drop from the top of the cage before missing a second attempt. Warrior added some abuse for poor Bobby Heenan since Heenan had slammed Warrior's head in the door earlier in the match and hit Rude with the usual big splash to retain the title. This is not a modern classic or anything but it does have good chemistry between Rude and Warrior and the crowd was into it the whole time. Rude should actually have been given a longer run at the top with Warrior because he was a great heel in 1990 and the WWF really missed the boat with him.
