3. Royal Rumble 1990
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSwf5guXOA4 The annual Royal Rumble event is always a fan favorite and, in 1990, the Rumble was filled with names who could possibly win the match. At the front of that list were the Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan. Both men were extremely popular with the fan base, Hogan as the established veteran main eventer and Warrior as the up-and-coming irresistible force. Hogan made his entry late in the match with the ring already filled with other wrestlers including the Warrior. Hogan cleared the ring of Jimmy Snuka, Haku, and the Honky Tonk Man while the Ultimate Warrior tossed Tito Santana, Rick Martel, and Shawn Michaels. Suddenly, the fans realized that Hogan and the Warrior were the only two left in the ring and the crowd went absolutely insane when the two babyfaces squared off in the middle of the ring. In a preview of their eventual WrestleMania VI match, the Warrior and Hulk Hogan fought to a stalemate in the middle of the ring and clotheslined each other for a double KO spot until another wrestler entered the match. Vince McMahon probably could taste all of the money he was going to make with a Warrior vs. Hogan match and the crowd reaction during this Rumble made the obvious decision even more obvious.
