Ultimate Warrior: Always Believe DVD Review - 5 Things That Ruled And 5 That Sucked

1. A Missed Opportunity

Overall, Always Believe has to go down as a missed opportunity. There is some pretty good stuff there, but there's also a lot of filler. WWE has already released two DVDs on Warrior. The first, The Self-Destruction, was a total hatchet job. The second, the Ultimate Collection, was just a series of matches. It was hoped that Always Believed would combine the best of both worlds. That we'd get an honest, warts and all documentary with some important matches as extras. The documentary has its moments, but the retconning of history (Ultimate Warrior was one of the greatest men who ever lived, you know) is grating. The extra matches are decent, but there's nothing on there approaching the brilliance of the legendary Hogan or Savage WrestleMania matches. Given his enduring popularity and the continued involvement of Warrior's wife Dana with the WWE, we can expect to see lots more Warrior-related products in the coming years. As it is, call Always Believe a disappointment. Check out the abbreviated version of the documentary on the WWE Network and look elsewhere for great Warrior matches. Overall Rating: 6/10
