Ultimate Warrior: Always Believe DVD Review - 5 Things That Ruled And 5 That Sucked

4. A Unique Match Selection

The Ultimate Warrior was not renowned for wrestling '5 Star' matches. Although Warrior did have some genuine classics with Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan, more often than not his matches were of the short squash variety. Warrior, who often blew up during his entrance, wasn't built for long matches. Despite the brevity of most of the matches on offer, there are some real gems to be found here. Savage & Warrior versus The Nasty Boys from 1992 is worth watching for the teased tension between the babyfaces. On the blu-ray edition there is also a rare chance to see Warrior and The Undertaker team up when they square off with The Berserker and Papa Shango. A match against Owen Hart from Raw in 1996 and an early 90s effort against Rick Martel show that Warrior could certainly be carried, when in the ring with the right opponent. You have to give WWE credit for not double-dipping and choosing the same old matches that we've seen a thousand times.
