In a tragically unplanned way, Warrior's death is actually an extension of the new WWE 'Reality Era' launched over WrestleMania weekend. You can read more about the reality era implications here. Basically what the reality era means is the wrestlers aren't just fictional characters anymore, we are encouraged to know their real life too. This means WWE encouraging us to follow superstars on twitter, downloading podcasts listening about behind the scenes news, and supporting real crowd movements such as the Yes campaign. This is compounded by new pushes such as Bryan, Cesaro and Paige being grounded in normal situations and feelings. Essentially, Warrior's death is an unfortunate occurrence in the early reality era. In a week where WWE wanted the real story to be Daniel Bryan and Brock Lesnar, with those implications in turn becoming the script, the real story of the week has in fact became Warrior. He will now become part of the reality era this monday when his real death is incorporated into scripted elements of the Raw tv show. It will be done tastefully and to satisfy our desire for a tribute, but ultimately, Warrior will this Monday become part of the reality era. We hope it's the send-off he deserves.
