Ultimate Warrior's 11 Losses - From Cleanest To Screwiest

4. Vs. Rick Rude - WWF WrestleMania V

Angry Ultimate Warrior
WWE

Vince McMahon is a nice man.

He didn't want you, child of the '90s in an oversized Ultimate Warrior tee, foam Legion of Doom spikes and chintzy Bret Hart shades, to feel like your hero had let you down. And so this is why he booked Bobby Heenan to strap down Warrior's legs at WrestleMania V.

Quite how this molly-coddling booking approach makes any goddamn sense to his core audience of fully-grown boomers in 2020 is another matter, but it worked rather well at the time.

If this finish played out in 2020, Bobby Heenan would have waved his arms on the apron, Warrior would have looked like a gigantic a**hole, Rude would have rolled him and darted out of the ring, and Gorilla Monsoon would claim that he'd "stolen one".

The WWF didn't become the monopoly that is WWE by doing this sort of sh*t way back when. And so, when the finish called for f*ckery - after one of Warrior's more accomplished in-ring efforts - it was left to Bobby Heenan's genius to press all of his weight down on the Warrior, frantically, like it was the role he was put on this planet to do.

He got it over. He got everything over.

Clean rating: That toilet needs bleaching. There's an awful libertarian-sized skidmark on it.
